The Challenge
With various policies targeted at improving access to education in Nigeria, the population of out of school children is alarming across regions and driven by obvious factors such as insecurity, cultural beliefs and poverty. Despite government interventions, the challenge of education, especially primary and secondary needs to be complemented by other bodies (private sector and NGOs). According to UNESCO (2022), approximately 10.5 million children are out of school in Nigeria.
This invariably means that the country will have 10.5 million of its future talent, the labor force already depleted due to lack of access to quality education and most children that are uncatered for end up in the circle of various social vices.
The Challenge
An industry that inhibits societal growth and development! Young, old, and aged most importantly the youths are at risk with the use of drugs and related substances as majority of them imbibes this social vice.
A societal menace that enhances other social vices.
The menace posed by drugs and related substances calls for an increasing synergy amongst stakeholders in combating it in our society.this must be done with strict adherence to modern and well thought out approaches.
According to the UNODC 2021 Report, about 275 million people used drugs globally, and Nigeria accounts for 5.2% i.e14.3 million. This 14.3 million translates to approximately 6.5% of Nigeria’s population (218,541,212) according to the World Bank 2022 report.

Solution – Our approach
To support the existing measures put in place to combat drugs and other substances, emerging icons use a demography-based and stakeholders approach that combines field research in development economics. This approach is quite distinct in its entirety as it captures all stakeholders relevant data for developing effective and sustainable solutions.
